Sahyogini — A Step Towards Self-Confidence
Sahyogini is a women empowerment initiative of Khushi Educational & Social Trust aimed at helping women become skilled, confident and financially independent.
Many women, especially those from economically vulnerable and marginalised communities, have the ability and willingness to work but lack access to affordable skill training and suitable opportunities. Family responsibilities and limited employment options often prevent them from reaching their full potential.
Through Sahyogini, Khushi provides skill-based training that can lead to home-based or local income-generating opportunities. The programme focuses not only on developing practical skills but also on building confidence, encouraging decision-making and helping women recognise their own abilities and worth.
The programme supports women such as single, economically disadvantaged, unemployed and part-time working women by providing training in Tailoring, Beautician Services, Mehendi and Traditional Hand Embroidery.
Our aim is to help women turn their skills into opportunities, opportunities into income, and income into greater self-reliance and dignity.
Our Skill Development Programmes
Beautician Training
The Beautician programme provides practical training in beauty and personal care services, including eyebrow shaping, waxing, facial, manicure, pedicure, haircut, hair care, hairstyling, head massage and makeup. The training enables women to explore employment or start beauty services from home with relatively low investment.
Tailoring Training
The Tailoring programme equips women with practical sewing skills, from basic stitching to making garments such as blouses, kurtis, salwar suits, dresses, frocks, gowns and bags. Training also covers measurement, cutting, finishing, embroidery, product pricing and basic market knowledge, helping women take orders or develop home-based tailoring work.
Mehendi Training
The Mehendi programme introduces women to the art of Mehendi and its income-generating potential. Participants learn to prepare Heena paste and cones, understand basic elements and patterns, and create different styles including traditional, bridal and Arabic Mehendi designs. These skills can help women take orders for weddings, festivals and other occasions.
Traditional Hand Embroidery
The Traditional Hand Embroidery programme helps women develop creative and practical embroidery skills. Participants learn different types of stitches and techniques to create neat and attractive embroidered patches and products. The skill can be used for home-based work, product creation and income generation.
Creating Opportunities for Self-Reliance
Sahyogini goes beyond skill training. It creates a supportive environment where women can learn, gain confidence and take steps towards financial independence.
Through skill development, practical exposure and opportunities for self-employment, we strive to help women become more confident in making decisions, participating in social life and contributing to their families and communities.
Empowered women create stronger families, stronger communities and a stronger society.
